Favorite Football Player

Walter Payton holds on for another year. When TB wins his fourth Super Bowl title and 3rd SB MVP award I'll have to finally make the move.
Favorite Basketball Player

Stockton comes to mind... I love his style... he's the Esa Tikkanen of the NBA - he just gets in your head, annoys you, and pushes the boundaries. Best passer EVAR, and a great leader.
Favorite Baseball Player

Dwight Gooden. No one has ever thrown a curve ball quite like Doc. Graig Nettles is a close second because he made me want to play the hot corner and make diving stabs.
Favorite Hockey Player

Mark Messier. There has never been a greater leader and overall great team player than the Messiah. He promised a Game 6 win in the Cup playoffs, and delivered a hat trick in a 4-2 win... what more can you ask of your captain?
Favorite Soccer Player

This is a tough call but as a fan of the Arsenal football club I'd have to pick Gilberto, the senior Center Midfielder and team captain.
Best Sports Moment
Toss up between these events:

As 14.5 point underdogs, the Patriots win the 2001 Super Bowl vs. Rams after driving to the winning field goal, with JM telling them to play for overtime... simply awesome.

Mets win Game 6 of the 1986 World Series after Buckner bobbles the game clinching grounder, and the Mets go on to win the Series.

With the Rangers down 3 games to 2, Mark Messier guarantees a win in Game 6 of the 1994 Stanley Cup playoffs vs. the Devils. Down 2-1 going into the 3rd period, Messier scores a hat trick and powers the Rangers to a 4-2 victory. They win that series in 7, then win over the Canucks in 7 as well to gain their first Stanley Cup in 54 years.

Patriots win Divisional round 2001 vs. Raiders - Vinatieri's kick in the snow that barely cleared the crossbar... amazing!
Worst Sports Moment
Toss up between:

Mets lose Game 1 in 12 innings, then go on to lose the 2000 World Series to the NYY. Disgusting.

Asante Samuel drops the game clinching interception; soon after, David Tyree makes an improbably amazing catch with the ball pinned to his helmet, helping the NYG beat the Patriots in Superbowl XLII.

Champ Bailey intercepts TB as the Patriots are about to score, and runs it 100 yards to the 1 yard line, putting the game out of reach as the Broncos down the Patriots in the 2005 Divisonal playoffs.

Patriots blow a 21-6 halftime lead in the 2006 AFC Conference Finals vs. the eventual SB Championship winning Colts, losing 38-34

Patriots get to within 7, but Desmond Howard returns the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown in SB XXXI, effectively putting the game out of reach for the New England Patriots.

Dude, that just made me look REALLY stupid! But, yeah, if I'm gonna write a blog, I oughta do more research. You're right, it was a very stupid, stupid mistake. I wish you'd comment on the actual blog content, though; you got what I meant.

LOL just read this:

"Sam Cassel is a competent QB, better than SOME starters (cough, Jon Kitna, cough). Also, the Pats have Wes Welker, the guy who can do anything and everything on the football field."

When not point guarding his way to NBA titles, Sam Cassel is a competent QB man!  LOL I almost cried my eyes out reading that :)  It's actually Matt Cassel.  Honest mistake, funny that these people were so taken with the article that they didn't read it so clearly.

HAHAHAHAA  Sam Cassel!!!  LOL I'm sorry bud I'm not laughing at you, it just provided a really funny visual for me.

That's a good idea. What happened was, I went to my account. Said I had a comment, and all I saw was what you had said. So, I thought it was directed at me...my bad. Sorry.

I thought you were saying I had said that. You could've just posted that in KB's guestbook.

The heck you talking about? I didn't say that. Where the heck did you see that, because I never said that. I don't say "woot", for one thing.

That's my opinion (Not ESPNs, apparently!). Jets and Phins are both average teams. Bills are ready to have a huge year, led by the defense and ST. Can't wait!
