I just read a rumor that since the Bears put in a waiver claim for ex-Bucs QB Bruce Gradkowski, that they will have an interest in Chris Simms when and (I guess) if he becomes available.  Now, I’m not sure how the Bear’s interest in Gradkowski automatically means they have an interest in Simms but if it is true I must ask Jerry Angelo to do me a favor…

Please, for all that is Holy on this earth, do not sign or trade for Chris Simms! He’s nothing but a whining, prima donna QB that under throws receivers, throws picks, takes a sack or fumbles the ball. I’m not even going to get into the fact that he disappears in big games. I will admit that he is a better NFL QB than I thought he would be, but the Bears already have two QB’s on their roster that do the same thing.  Rex Grossman already does a great job of throwing picks, fumbling snaps or taking a sack because the concept of stepping up in the pocket under pressure is foreign to him.  Kyle Orton is almost as good as under throwing receivers as ex-Bear, prima donna QB Cade McNown.  Why do we need to add whining to the list of available attributes in the QB depth chart? Having Simms on the roster does nothing but add more of the same, minus a spleen.
